Plenary session by Džemila Šero
Human impressions such as fingerprints and palmprints are frequently found on works of art made of clay, wax, bronze, paper and paint. Although these marks have never been carefully studied, they can reveal unique information of those who handled, shaped, or decorated these objects at the exact moment they were created. In my talk, I will show how engineers, art historians, conservators, and forensic fingerprint examiners can create a powerful synergy that brings new narratives to centuries-old artworks.
