Description
Data, whether it comprises short text messages, medical records, bank balances or experiment and simulation outputs, lies behind virtually every human endeavor. As one of the prime scientific fields, data management, studies the storage, curation, and processing of vast amounts of data, while safeguarding data integrity, and correctness. As a result, in the last decades, data management methods and systems have become the cornerstone of solutions to store, curate and prepare the data that is used for training AI models. At the same time, many data management solutions are AI-driven, which has resulted in a deep alliance between the fields of data management and AI.
This interactive session will discuss the following important questions: a) how does the field of data management affect the latest developments in AI? and b) how can AI be used for the benefit of the data management field? To bring awareness to the broader scientific community (PhD students, faculty and practitioners) at ICT.OPEN, this interactive session will invite experts and stakeholders from different domains (ML/AI, data management, application domain experts) and be formatted as a panel discussion with open participation from the audience.
