Track description
The NWO Research Community Advanced Methods, Data and Analyses to understand Living Systems proposes a track at ICT.OPEN to explore emerging and cutting-edge computational approaches for complex biological challenges. This session will showcase opportunities for method development and cross-disciplinary application in areas such as deep learning, foundation models, multimodal data integration, federated learning, innovative visualization techniques, and others. By bringing together experts in computer science and life sciences, with those who have experience in collaborating across these two domains, we aim to highlight success stories, learn from failures, discuss open challenges, and identify key needs for impactful, collaborative research. The track will foster mutual learning, inspire new partnerships, and shape future directions where advances in ICT and data science accelerate life science discovery, while biological challenges, in turn, drive methodological innovation in ICT research.
