Track description
The CompSys community brings together researchers and practitioners in the area of computer systems and networks. ICT.OPEN is a key event where we bring together the community, showcase our current results, and build new collaborations with industrial and societal partners towards broader research and higher impact.
An important challenge in CompSys is to design, build, deploy, and operate highly-efficient networked computer/digital systems. Tackling these challenges combines “art” - i.e., the experience and creativity of the fields’ experts - with science - i.e., novel scientific methods and tools for design space exploration, efficient measurement and assessment, and sustainable deployment and operation. CompSys core research themes [1] address these challenges holistically, focusing on designing novel computing and networking hardware, developing better communication protocols and more programmable networks, co-designing efficient system software, and deploying and operating sustainable digital continuum infrastructure for large-scale applications.
In this track, we highlight research results that illustrate our “designer in the loop” approach to combine the art of design and scientific methods for creating better networked computer systems. Specifically, we invite contributions that showcase:
● Efficient architectures and systems, from infrastructure to system software.
● Co-design and co-creation methodologies.
● Emerging DevOps methods and tools.
● Methods and tools for system/application performance assessment and prediction.
● Novel applications.
● Required education developments to empower the creative next-generation of CompSys scientists and engineers with the needed scientific methods.
