Track description

It is widely acknowledged that we are currently in the midst of what is broadly referred to as "digital transformation." This revolution that impacts businesses, industries, and society as a whole is enabled by, or driven through, software-based innovations.

In this track, we welcome contributions from two leading industry players, Microsoft, and GitHub, who are at the forefront of these developments. They will present the larger context of the role of digital technologies and zoom in on the role of developers who always have been and continue to be the driving force behind this digital revolution.

Both GitHub and Microsoft have been contemplating how the most effective software development teams operate, whether they belong to an open-source community or a leading global enterprise. It has been discovered that the concept of developer velocity lies at the core of modern development teams.

Teams that have high developer velocity can:

  • Work autonomously and quickly
  • Ship quality code safely, and securely
  • Bridge across organizational boundaries even with large-scale teams

The presenters will place special emphasis on the introduction of "Copilot," an AI-based technology that focuses on enhancing the productivity of software users while supporting developer velocity in a secure manner.
