Track description

In today’s society every aspect of life is characterised by an ever increasing use of softwarebased systems. Hence, ensuring correctness, reliability, safety and security of such systems is of uttermost importance. Formal Methods have been introduced with this exact purpose. They are crucial for the development of safety-critical software systems, which are the linchpin of our modern infrastructure. They are widely used in sectors ranging from Healthcare to Aerospace, to flood defence, and are even involved in AI advances. Formal Methods are grounded in strong and elegant mathematical foundations, making them an excellent example of how fundamental and applied research can, combined, lead to real-world societal impact.

This track will cover the latest achievements in the field, with special focus on successful applications of Formal Methods in Healthcare, flood defence and AI.
