Track description
New technologies, such as Generative AI, have a direct impact on computer science and ICT education. These technologies influence the competencies students need to succeed in their future careers, and also how we teach and assess these competencies. This raises important questions: are the current educational programs still relevant? Should we adapt them to emerging technological trends, or should we resist the hype and continue teaching and prioritizing the fundamentals? What do employers expect from junior employees? This topic transcends formal research, as teachers and practitioners confront these questions in their daily work.
This track welcomes contributions on how educators are integrating new technologies into their teaching, or resisting them, as well as how they are addressing the challenges. For example, how are sustainability, ethical, and societal issues being considered and incorporated into educational practice? We also welcome course- and program-level adjustments, as well as pedagogical activities, educational tools, and research studies that explore these developments. This track aims to bring together diverse experiences and perspectives to better understand how ICT education evolves in a changing technological landscape.
